We are looking for a Legal Counsel to join our small but mighty (and growing!) legal team in Amsterdam to work across all departments at Recruitee to guide and grow the business as we expand. This role primarily focuses on the reviewing and negotiating of commercial contracts and to provide legal support to the business on a wide variety of legal questions. You will report to the Senior Legal Counsel.

What you will do
Take the lead on negotiating and drafting customer contracts in Dutch and English while remaining aligned with the sales department
Work together with the Senior Legal Counsel to improve legal processes and templates in line with Recruitee’s goal to build a scalable SaaS-business, and taking into account the interests of every department
Maintain Recruitee’s GDPR-compliance in relation to thousands of data processors and controllers
Negotiate contracts with partners and suppliers
Update knowledge resources on legal topics for the business, and react quickly to questions from all parts of the company
Work with our product team to ensure that our product incorporates ‘privacy by design’
What you’ll bring to the team
Masters degree in Dutch Law
Fluent in Dutch and English at a high level
Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills in Dutch and English based on proven experience
2-4 years of experience working as a legal counsel, preferably at an IT company
Deep knowledge of data protection laws, in particular the GDPR, required
Ability to take a pragmatic approach to risk and contracts and prioritize where necessary
Highly accurate, analytical and self-starting
Ability to communicate effectively, and work collaboratively with all internal departments
A practical and customer-oriented mindset combined with business acumen
A sense of humor and the ability to work well with a tight-knit, fast growing team

Experience with Software as a Service (SaaS) / cloud computing
Experience in IP and IT law
Affinity for technology, including using and exploring different technologies
Experience in working in diverse international environments
